The Classic was created as a more considered answer: an outdoor structure with the presence of architecture and the warmth of natural timber. Substantial, beautifully crafted and individually proportioned, it makes the garden feel like a genuine extension of the home.

Sapele, redwood and Douglas fir were all considered. Solid oak and cedar were chosen for their distinctive character, natural warmth and proven suitability for a structure intended to mature beautifully.

Mackenzie began with a simple frustration: conventional pergolas felt either cold and industrial or too lightweight to create a lasting sense of place. The answer was to design something altogether more considered.
